Remember how just a few months ago it was as if everyone on the planet wore yellow
and nothing but yellow? Yellow represents a whole variety of positive elements that can
be brought to the human soul.
confidence, optimism, creativity, wisdom, and even happiness into your life. Is all this
gone now, since the trend has come to an end? From what I see, no; nude is the new
necessity. Unrobed colors, if anything, has brought more favorable aspects into our
society than ever before. Beside the fact that we all have a wide spectrum of color
options to choose from, this whole concept has promoted cultural diversity, human body
positivity, and natural makeup too.
Little would anybody expect, the au naturel trademark started back several years ago in
2013. It all began when Christian Louboutin released his nude heel collection while as
of last year he contributed even further into the trend by expanding The Nudes with five
extra tonnes. The trend of bare colors has been around for years, but it never did take a
full effect on our generation until Kanye West released his Yeezy fashion line. Although
most commented about the style of Kanye’s collection looking very post-apocalyptic,
this line had a much bigger impact on youth culture than what teenagers actually
comprehended. This has opened up the eyes of hundreds of thousands of teenage
activists to speak up about current events based on these collections. Which that alone
has encouraged big corporations to listen to the voices of youth and improve upon
some of their own products.
Cosmetic businesses are one of the many industries that are expanding to their line of
nudes. Maybelline and Loreal Paris have created nearly twenty new nude shaded
lipsticks this past year. Pleasing? Yes, but teenage activists and feminists have
expressed their anger via social media by raging on and on about how makeup
corporations need to apply all skin tone examples when selling a certain colored
cosmetic item online so that everybody can fairly judge upon whether that product will
suit their skin tone or not. Although not much has changed in that aspect, Xrite has
created Capture, a cosmetic color matching device that allows you to find what products
will have cohesion with your specific skin tone. This alone will help tons of individuals
find their perfect match of makeup that will flatter their complexion.
But it’s not only makeup companies making current changes, even Ms. Plastic herself
has made some improvements as well. From the company that brought you Barbie,
Mattel has included eight new skin tones for their dolls this previous year. But this isn’t
the only change that has taken place in Barbie’s world. At last Nickolay Lamm devised a
plan to create a doll just like Barbie but with realistic body proportions, unlike Barbie.
This has produced a huge wave of body positivity all over the country ever since the
Lammily dolls have come into retail stores. This even made Mattel go under the
influence of forming three new body types for Barbie which has opened the eyes of
more people. But from what it seems, Nickolay is not the only innovative mind making
good use his time and efforts.
The up and coming brand, Nubian Skin is just another example of a grand
accomplishment by an innovative mind. The founder of Nubian Skin, Ade Hassan, in
previous years she has had the squabble of finding lingerie that was compatible with her
skin tone. She wasn’t the only one with this issue; thousands upon thousands of women
such as herself have faced this dilemma for decades. Last year, back in October, that’s
exactly when it all happened. She finally launched Nubian Skin and ever since it’s been
a smashing hit. Even after a few months into her new career as a lingerie seller, she
eventually became fashion entrepreneur of the year in the UK. Not only has Nubian
Skin solved numerous amount of issues around the globe for women, they aren’t the
only company that’s attempting to foster diverse body images.
The emerging clothing company, Flavnt Streetwear is soon to release their bare skin
tops in the next few months. The clothing company is based around the whole central
idea of changing the fashion norms for the LGBT community. By selling their bare skin
tops, their whole goal is to make transgender individuals feel as secure and comfortable
as possible during bikini season. And to complete this task, Flavnt has implemented a
sports bra like quality to the top and not to mention the top itself will be sold in five
different shades of fleshed colors. This will ensure their customers that the product itself
will compress or hide any scarring near the breast and it will create the sensation that
you’re completely topless.
And just as you thought the stark naked color trend couldn’t expand anymore, it just
did. As of a few days ago, Vogue released on their website all the pre-spring and pre-summer
2016 collections from brands such as Joseph Fashion, Calvin Klein, Rosetta
Getty and even more. Sooner or later these collections will be presented on the runway
and by that time chances are more cultural acceptances will be present in society than
ever recorded in history. Here’s to changing the world’s ideas with one fashion
statement at a time.
